System requirements
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit) |
| Disk space | ~700 MB free for CCE + PDFCreator |
| Admin rights | Required for the installer |
| Default PDF viewer | Adobe Acrobat / Reader / any PDF app |
CCE does not run on macOS or Linux. It depends on Windows printer infrastructure.
What the installer does
The installer:
- Installs CCE to
C:\Program Files\CCE\. - Installs PDFCreator (the virtual printer CCE prints through), silently, in the background.
- Renames PDFCreator's virtual printer to CCE Printer so it shows up under that name in your print dialogs.
- Creates the CCE working folders under
%APPDATA%\CCE\(output, processed, logs, errors, database). - Adds a CCE icon to your Start menu and your system tray.
The installer does not install PDF Architect 9 on purpose. PDFCreator occasionally ignores the "skip PDF Architect" instruction in some builds. If that happens, see Quickstart → Step 1 for the one-click fix.
Installer walkthrough
Download CCE-Setup-1.0.3.exe and right-click → Run as administrator.
Windows SmartScreen may warn you on first run — click More info → Run anyway. The installer is signed by College Produce LLC.
Read and accept the End User License Agreement.
The default C:\Program Files\CCE\ is recommended.
Click Install. The progress bar will pause for ~30 seconds during the silent PDFCreator install — this is normal.
First launch
The installer launches CCE for you. If it does not, click the CCE icon on your desktop. You should see:
- A CCE icon in your system tray (bottom-right of the taskbar). If it's hidden, click the ^ arrow to find it.
- A welcome notification: "CCE is running. Right-click the tray icon for options."
If you don't see either, see Troubleshooting → CCE didn't start.
Verify what was installed
Updating CCE
Right-click the CCE tray icon → Exit (this releases file locks).
Download the new version from Releases and run it. The installer will detect the existing install and upgrade in place.
Your settings, job history, and savings totals are preserved. You do not need to uninstall the previous version first.
Uninstalling
- Press Win → Apps & Features → search CCE → Uninstall.
- (Optional) Also uninstall PDFCreator the same way if you don't want to keep the virtual printer available.
- (Optional) Delete
%APPDATA%\CCE\if you want to remove your job history and savings totals.
